Lamborghini’s first EV delayed by a year; Launch pushed to 2029

Lamborghini has postponed the launch of its first electrical car by a 12 months. The Italian supercar maker believes the market isn’t but prepared for pure electrical luxurious sports activities vehicles. The corporate had initially deliberate to debut its first EV in 2028.

Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann mentioned, “We don’t assume 2029 is late to have an electrical automotive. We don’t assume, in our phase, the market shall be prepared in 2025 or 2026.”

Winkelmann added that the corporate is in no hurry to push for electrification and is ready for a clearer regulatory outlook within the European Union.

Lamborghini’s first EV shall be based mostly on the Lanzador idea that was showcased in 2023. It will likely be a 4-seat grand tourer. Experiences recommend that it might share its underpinnings with different VW Group fashions. The electrical motors would even be sourced from Volkswagen. That being mentioned, Lamborghini shall be growing applied sciences that can set its EVs aside from the competitors.
