Over 1000 McLaren GTs recalled due to hood latch failures

McLaren has issued a recall of its grand tourer, the McLaren GT, following stories of hood latch failures.

In keeping with McLaren, the handbook launch cable of the latch could also be below extreme rigidity. This may result in each main and secondary latches opening inadvertently. If the latches fail whereas driving, the hood may fly open and strike the windscreen close to the hinge factors.

1012 vehicles manufactured between September 12, 2019, and Could 19, 2023, have been affected worldwide, together with 15 GTs offered in Australia. Latches utilized in automobiles assembled after this date have a brand new design.

Sellers can be instructed to interchange outdated latches with the brand new model on all McLaren GTs affected by this recall.
