Gmail will start spam-proofing political fundraising emails this week

Gmail customers might begin seeing extra marketing campaign fundraising emails hitting their inboxes over the subsequent couple days as Google begins rolling out a brand new political filtering system.

Google advised Axios on Monday that it was launching a controversial new pilot program to maintain marketing campaign emails out of spam folders this week. This system was introduced again in June and permits candidates, political social gathering committees, and management political motion committees to use for spam folder exemptions.

In August, the Federal Election Fee narrowly voted to approve this system after Google requested for the company to log out on it earlier this yr.
